Lemon Law. For a vehicle the repairs have not fixed.

California's lemon law, the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, addresses vehicles with warranty defects that the manufacturer or its repair facilities have not fixed after a reasonable number of attempts. Asadi Law Group represents owners and lessees in motor vehicle warranty and lemon law matters.

What the practice covers

From the repair record to resolution.

Repair history

The record of each repair visit is often the starting point for a warranty claim.

  • Repair orders and invoices
  • Dates, mileage, and days out of service
  • The problem reported at each visit

Manufacturer communications

What the owner or lessee told the manufacturer, and how the manufacturer responded.

  • Customer service contacts and case numbers
  • Written notices and responses
  • Warranty booklets and any extended coverage

The claim

Evaluating whether the facts support a claim under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act.

  • The warranty and the nature of the defect
  • Purchase or lease documents
  • Remedies the Act may provide

Resolution

Pursuing the matter with the manufacturer, and in court when it does not resolve.

  • Communications with the manufacturer and its counsel
  • Litigation, discovery, and motion practice
  • Settlement documentation
The first conversation

Start with the vehicle and its repair history.

The purchase or lease documents and the repair orders help frame a warranty inquiry.

The vehicle

Identify the make, model, and year, and whether it was purchased or leased.

The repairs

Note how many times the vehicle has been in for repair, for what problem, and roughly when.

The documents

Keep the purchase or lease contract and the repair orders available. Do not upload them through the initial contact form.

Which vehicles are covered?

Coverage depends on the vehicle, the warranty, and how the vehicle was acquired. The firm reviews those facts before advising whether a claim is available.

What documents help with a lemon law inquiry?

The purchase or lease contract, the warranty, the repair orders, and any written communication with the manufacturer or dealer are the most useful starting points.

Should I upload repair records through the contact form?
